The Sound of Bavaria, the Soul of the Party: The Die Notenhobler Story

🍻  From the Black Forest to the World

Every great party begins with a heartbeat, and for over three decades, Die Notenhobler has been that heartbeat.

Born in the scenic landscapes of Southern Germany, five friends—Martin, Thomas, Uwe, Günther, and Aleks—shared a simple but powerful dream: to bring the authentic, foot-stamping joy of Bavarian folklore to every corner of the globe. Armed with their signature Lederhosen, an unstoppable sense of humor, and an arsenal of instruments ranging from the traditional Accordion to the mighty Alphorn, they set out to share the true spirit of Gemütlichkeit (coziness and good cheer).

✈️  Bridging Cultures, One "Prost!" at a Time

What started as local tavern gigs quickly exploded into an international phenomenon. In 1994, the boys boarded a flight to Hong Kong, carrying their brass and acoustic instruments across continents. They didn't just bring music; they brought a festival.

For over 30 years, Die Notenhobler has been the heartbeat of Hong Kong’s iconic Oktoberfest celebrations—from the legendary waterfront parties at the Marco Polo German Beer Fest to the vibrant open-air stages of Central Market and Happy Wednesday at the Happy Valley Racecourse. They transformed strangers into dance partners, teaching thousands how to do the "Fliegerlied" (The Flyer Song) and the Chicken Dance, making a bustling Asian metropolis feel exactly like a Munich beer tent.

🎺  Music That Knows No Boundaries

What makes a Die Notenhobler show unforgettable? It is the element of surprise. One moment, you are listening to a hauntingly beautiful melody played on a 14-foot Alphorn; the next, the band is launching into a high-energy rock cover or a hilarious, localized rendition of a pop anthem that gets the entire crowd roaring.

To Die Notenhobler, the stage isn't a barrier—it’s an invitation. They play with the audience, not just for them. When the band raises their glasses and shouts "Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit!", thousands raise theirs in unison.

🎉  The Legend Continues

Today, Die Notenhobler remains as energetic, loud, and joyful as the day they first started. They prove year after year that great music, cold beer, and pure, unadulterated fun are universal languages.

Whether you are a lifelong fan or raising a stein with them for the very first time, when Die Notenhobler takes the stage, you aren't just a spectator—you are part of the family.
